Puffin: Repower

Puffin, a Herreshoff Cat Ketch 31', had her original Universal 11HP motor. The new owners had used the Universal for a couple of seasons and they didn't have a lot of confidence in it. Knowing they were going to keep their boat for a while, they decided to repower. We installed a new Yanmar 2YM15 in the Winter of 2007. The installation was a bit tricky. The steep shaft angle required tall beds and the motor to be tight in the shallow bilge under the cockpit. The new powerplant has increased the owner's cruising range and given them more confidence every time out.
