Directions to Concordia

Boating enthusiasts come from all over the world visit Concordia Company, located in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. On the charts it's called Apponagansett Bay, the town of South Dartmouth. But, to all local sailors and boaters, it's known as Padanaram. Padanaram is a picturesque, quiet, graceful, summery village of tree-lined streets and clapboard houses. It's waterfront village offers unique shops, a village store, a post office and a few restaurants.

By Boat:

41 deg 34 min 27.45 sec North, 070 deg 56 min 47.15 sec West (breakwater: Fl R 4S "8")

The entrance to Padanaram Harbor (Apponagansett Bay) is marked with a Red, 4 second flasher at the end of a breakwater at Ricketson's Point. The breakwater light is equipped with triangle-shaped reflective day marks. There's a 17-foot draft right up to the breakwater, and the passage into Padanaram Harbor is quite simple to navigate as long as you follow the markers... There's plenty of water in the channel.

There's anchorage just inside the breakwater, and there's private transient moorings further up into the inner harbor. If you are looking for a transient mooring call NBYC on Channel 68.

By Air:

Concordia is accessible from both Rhode Island's T.F. Green International Airport, or Boston's Logan International Airport. Rental cars are available at both locations. There is also the New Bedford Regional Airport.
