Concordia Projects: Heron
Heron
Heron is Shields hull #2 and she is the oldest (#1 was destroyed in a fire). She had been on our property for several years after the previous owner had moved away. Concordia bought her from the previous owner and did some initial cosmetic work. We put her picture on a flyer over in Marion and Graham Quinn of Harding Sails found the perfect new owner.
Warren Ferguson wanted her to be perfect. He bought her from Concordia and had us complete the restoration. Work included all new paint in the bilge, deck, and more on the topsides including Clear Coat. A new toe rail and coamings, new rig assembled & painted, and all new hardware and rigging.
Heron was back in action in the Summer of 2007 racing in the Marion fleet. The oldest Shields is now better than new.
